"The Banjoist"

This is a self portrait of me playing my Bart Reiter banjo in costume. Some artist friends asked me to sit for them in my Riverboat costume with my banjo, so I did that. One of them took a photograph of me as I posed.

Once I saw the photo, I decided to do a painting myself from the photograph. I added the jug on the left and the footlight on the right to make it a period piece, and this is what I came up with.
